I say MaMaMaMaMooooo......... Even though these girls need no introduction, this is how they have been treating our ears with their Introduction for the past 6 years. MAMAMOO is a Kpop Girl Group signed under RBW ( Rainbow Bridge World ). It is actually quite a big deal that they still are popular in Kpop because many groups go out of the spotlight in 5 to 6 years. The fact that they have maintained their popularity for so long is evidence enough that they are filled with Ground Breaking Potential.
MAMAMOO
This is especially phenomenal as they are not even signed under one of the Big 4 Companies in Kpop. It is not merely the fact that they are still around but also that they always win on Music Shows with each and every comeback that they put out.
I became a fan ( a MOOMOO, as their Fandom, is called ) of MAMAMOO after listening to their song Starry Night ( 별이 빛나는 밤 ) and what a feast for both eyes and ears is that song!
There is something different about these girls, something that is not present in the other girl groups and there are so many of them. They STAND-OUT, it's very hard to miss them.
The following are the reasons, Why They Are The Best Out There:-
1. THEY MADE ME STICK AND NOT LET MY BIAS GET WRECKED -
If this is not a Superpower then what is?! In the world of Kpop with hundreds of Groups debuting each year, both boy and girl groups it is very easy to get addicted to a new song and a new group. Fans find themselves jumping from one to the other very quickly and forgetting about the previous group that they use to stan without any regret and only remembering about that group when they made a Comeback. And it can't be helped, I guess, because of the abundance of Music that the Industry has to offer.
If someone would ask me who my favorite boy group is, I still won't be able to answer. So many groups just whisk past my eyes at that moment, I can't even process. I guess Super Junior comes quite close though.
But this year 2019, I was immediately able to answer which Girl Group was the best one according to me. And the answer came very easy and organically. It is MAMAMOO.
2. THE DIVERSITY AMONG MEMBERs -
All four members are diverse in their talents, looks and stage presence. With Solar's amazing Leadership qualities, Whee-in to die for vocals, Hwasa's stage presence and her Solo songs and Moonbyul's tomboyish charm and that heavy voice, these girls have made a mark for themselves in the industry and they're not leaving the spotlight anytime soon.
SOLAR - She is the leader, can play the piano, has a famous Youtube Channel and her Pole dancing skills are just jawdropping.
MOONBYUL - The enigmatic rapper, with the face of a baby. There isn't any other female rapper who can match with her unique heavy and husky voice. She also has a talent for writing her own rap lyrics.
WHEE-IN - Just hear her sing A cappella once, you will forget the likes of Mariah Carey. Her voice is like crystals sewn into water. She can play the piano and her memory is something to be envious of.
HWASA - Ah! What to say about this one. All words fall short. She is the Queen of Kpop now. One of the Best Performers the industry has ever seen. She easily compares to Beyonce in terms of Stage Presence. She's also a very good cook. And she has a few song compositions under her wing.
3. ANGELIC VOCALs -
This one is just hard to miss. What you have to do is watch their EGOTISTIC Music Video. Just 1 stanza in you will be able to see their raw talent of vocals. Do they need accompanying music? I think they can do equally good even without. This is for each and every one. Whee-in, Hwasa, and Solar but also Moonbyul, who is a rapper but an equally good vocalist when it comes to it.
4. UNIQUE VISUALs -
These girls have the best visuals out of all the girl groups in Kpop.
SOLAR - She never misses to display the Queen she is. The epitome of grace and elegance amalgamated into one.
MOONBYUL - The Baby Faced hardcore rapper.
WHEE-IN - The Dimple Princess Gummy smiled little rager.
HWASA - The most unique visual in All of Kpop that is. The Dusky Royal.
5. QUEENs OF ACAPPELLA -
Just listen to their introduction and you will realize how good A cappella singers they are. No one else can harmonize the way these 4 do. In the new Kpop generation where they put more weight into making the group more visually dynamic and not really worrying about real singing talent. MAMAMOO stands strong. All 4 of the girls are excellent singers.
6. THEY ARE LIKE SISTERs -
Hwasa and Whee-in have been together since Middle School Days and Solar and Moonbyul used to live together in the same dorm since their trainee days and apparently they are so close that they think fighting with a fist is much better than with words. They are more bonded with each other than maybe their actual siblings. This bond is what has held them together for so long.
And yet again they have comeback with HIP, another Masterpiece of a song. Go have a listen.
