MOMMY SON's (마미손) Korean Music Revolution - Rapper With Pink Mask

I Used to Hate Pink but then I laid eyes on Mommy Son (마미 손) Literally meaning Mother's Hand. And Figuratively meaning the Best Korean Music Revolutionary Act out there. This guy has what it takes to change the face of the Korean Music Industry Forever.

Because what lies beneath is an endless pit of Talent and Wit.
And I say Wit because the path this rapper has taken is an amazing one, that requires a whole lot of Creativity and Intelligence. I mean how many times can you say that a Musician is Intelligent and not merely Artistic.

IF YOU ARE SAD, CRY YOU FOOL, IT'S OKAY

DID YOU THINK I'D FAIL HERE, YOU PUNKs?

YOU KNOW WHO I AM - JUST A CLOWN ( *winks* )

The Rapper with the Pink Beanie has been on the scene since making his debut on Show Me The Money, a Rapping show. He was eliminated from the show in the Second episode because he forgot the lyrics in the midst of rapping. I'll let you know what I think happened, but hold on.............

Immediately after his elimination, he released a New Diss Track on his Youtube channel. This song is called Sonyeon Jump ( 소년 점프 ) which literally means Boy Jump and figuratively it means Mommy Son is here to stay and make a BIG LEAP in the Music Industry.

Since then the rapper has gone viral and released more music. The songs are all A Kick in the Balls for Stereotypes.

Be it a song :-

~ About dissing the people who are quick to bring you down, and reminding us that sometimes FAILURE is the much-needed thing on the road to SUCCESS.
Song - Sonyeon Jump ( 소년 점프 )
This song has many references to Mommy Son's SMTM elimination. The stove on fire, in the beginning, mimics the elimination fire on stage when the rapper got the boot from the show. The unabashedly takes the judge's names and says thank you for the publicity and boost, saying that is not the end and just the beginning of this Immortal Rapper.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

~ About it being okay to Feel Sad and Cry your heart out till you reach the stars.
Song - The Song Of The Stars ( 별의노래 )
For some people, this message won't really mean much. But just imagine yourself living in a society that continuously asks you to repress your emotions, asks you not to cry no matter how bad you feel. Repression brings out Rebellion in people, we all know it and repressing emotions causes bottling up and turns people into empty shells.
EXPRESSION IS A FORM OF THERAPY.

He shouts "Nessun Dorma" which means None Shall Sleep, pertaining to the fact that no one shall rest until you have cried your heart out.

And as a quip asks The Violinist Eugene Park to cry, it's okay to cry. Eugene Park is a prodigy of The Julliard School, a Brilliant Violinist to say the least but he was abused mentally, physically and monetarily by his agency for many years.

The rapper also depicts Singer Chaeyeon's infamous Crying Selca in which she writes about, how she feels it's okay to cry sometimes and not hold back on anything and how tears can be good. But ended up receiving hate for the same.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

~ About Chart Manipulation which has become a growing nuisance and trend in the South Korean Music Industry, all due to Artificial Intelligence which seems to be becoming the norm in the Networking world.
Song - The Vibe From Experience ( 짬에서 나오는 바이브 )

This song is sung in a Satirical Ballad style. The rapper laments that although he worked hard for the past 15 years, he can't ever chart on any music charts. And yet he has to compete against the music creators who use unfair means like owning thousands of phones and artificially boosting streams and ratings of their songs.
He further talks of how Youtube is not so lucrative and a real artist can't get anywhere. He asks the audience, exactly how can he win over a machine ( artificial intelligence ). He is not even Lee Sedol, the famous Go player who beat the AI machine AlphaGo in one match of Go. Since he is not Lee Sedol, he can never win over a machine, one that can make anyone get into charts and rank high.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And I think it's safe to say that Korea needs exactly what Mommy Son has to offer right now.
And his Anonymity helps, well there's that thing though......WAIT FOR IT................................

His unique style of wearing a Mask, a Pink Beanie and the name Mommy Son which he got from Mamison, a Dishwashing Glove Company's name, which he received in exchange for modeling from their company's product for free. This guy has his own thing going on.
The best thing is that there is no-one who even comes near to the Niche he has claimed.

Now the thing that you have been waiting for -

It is common knowledge that the potential person behind The Pink Mask is the rapper Mad Clown, a very famous rapper who also had his start from the show
Show Me The Money Season 2 and was even the producer for SMTM-S5.

According to me, Mommy Son/ Mad Clown has been very tricky. It was never his intention to keep his TRUE-IDENTITY a secret. I say this because there is just too much evidence pointing towards the Clues that he has PURPOSEFULLY put in place for ALL TO SEE that who he actually is. But if you outright ask him to his face, he would ABSOLUTELY DENY IT.

And to me that is Fun, it KEEPs ME ENGAGED.
And keeping a Netizen Engaged in what you have to offer, is the biggest hurdle in a Celebrity's Life these days.

As to WHY he wears the mask, he stated that wearing a mask gives him a certain kind of freedom. Freedom from being judged for his lyrics. Freedom of expression. Also he can break away from his identity as a previously established artist, and embark on a new journey without prejudice attached.

So the following are the "Clues" the amazing rapper has left behind for LITERALLY ALL TO SEE -

1) THE START -

The biggest clue is the starting point. The place where we came to know about Mommy Son. That is SHOW ME THE MONEY - a reality show where Rappers compete against each other in Rap Battles and win monetary rewards in the end.
The start MIMICs that of Mad Clown. Both of them started on the same reality show, both of them have the SAME HABIT of FORGETTING LYRICs in the midst of a rap.
If you have seen the first time we laid eyes on Mommy Son when he was waiting in line outside for the Auditions of SMTM, you would surely have laid eyes on him TAKING OUT A PAIR OF ROUND RIMMED, THIN FRAMED GLASSES and LOOKING AROUND IN THEM.

These are the SIGNATURE GLASSES that Mad Clown wears.

Plus, there is a Video that Mommy Son released with Middle School Rapper. Maybe this is me going a bit too far on THE THEORY about the Man behind the Mask - but I think the fact that every young rapper in that music video is wearing THE EXACT SAME STYLE of GLASSES is also something that alludes to yet another CLEVER CLUE to his identity.
In this song, he dissed The Burning Sun Club for the huge scandal they created in South Korea regarding alleged illegal activities.

2) THE APPEARANCE -

Yes, I know what you must be thinking. The appearance is a stark difference. But if you look carefully. If you look at the eyes and the shape of the lips, you will see that there is more resemblance than you could ask for.
Pay attention, onlookers.

3) THE SHY RAPPER -

Both of them are very shy and that is hard to miss. People have dubbed them as a very bad guest for a variety show as the rapper is very shy and speaks slowly in a monotone.
But don't mistake him for this aspect of his personality. He can switch into a more flagrant character any time as we see in his songs.
It's easy to forget but he was a B Boy in the past and can break dance pretty well. He even makes fun of this in his Boy Jump MV. Just go and feast your eyes on Youtube.

4) THE UNMISTAKEABLE VOICE -

This one is very hard to miss. This is because he has a very unique rapping style and voice. Anyone who has ever heard Mad Clown sing, can easily see the similarity with Mommy Son.

In this age of Music, there is a lot of the same going around. You listen to the sounds but your heart doesn't flutter any more.
Every Song is just another good song.
Every Artist is just another good artist.

BUT, MOMMY SON - he brings the NEW, NEVER SEEN BEFORE FLAVOUR in CONCEPT and in MUSIC. And for that I am both Thankful and Excited.

MOMMY SON IS HERE TO STAY  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2019 - It's been a Polyvarious Year for 한류Hallyu or The Korean Wave. I mean, on one hand, there is the Global Phenomenon that is Parasite 기생충 directed by Bong Joon Ho. The movie that has received the highest honor one could get at the Cannes Film Festival - The Palme d'Or in 2019. The perfect embodiment of how the Korean Society functions and also how the whole world functions in accordance with The Class Gap. A Literal Masterpiece. But we are not here today to talk about the Magnificence of Parasite. We are here to analyze another parasite that has been plaguing the Korean Media as a whole. A parasite that has its hooks deep, far and fixed into the MINDs of THE KOREAN PEOPLE. PERCEPTION & PREJUDICE are our PARASITEs. In the past 2 years, the Kpop world has lost 2 precious angels - Jonghyun and Sulli. Depression and other mental health issues have led to their demise. All of this stemming from Loose Lips & Frantic Fingers of the Public. Isn't it a type of

Why KPOP Does Not Understand CULTURAL APPROPRIATION and The Epidemic of COLORISM in Korea

Cultural Appropriation has been one of the most talked-about controversial topics in the Kpop Industry in the past few years. The Real Problem - Why don't these almost GLOBAL ARTISTs know any better? The world is such a small place now, still, these artists claim they don't know about what this particular problem entails. The issue of Racism and Colorism. Are they so blind to their own fans' lives and history? They may be well rounded in the sense of vocal, visual, gag ability but they are not really socially aware, which is very bad for someone in the spotlight. In short, they should know better. They should read more, their team should be more knowledgeable and informative. Before putting out a performance, someone should check and double-check their content. These are the ways of damage control. But these are all Superficial Fixer-Upper things. What really needs to be done, is make the artist more aware of the situation. Where do people come from when they are expre
