So Lizy Holmes - Okay, maybe I shouldn't make this is into a laid back, funny article.
So ELIZABETH HOLMES - The first time I read this name, I thought I had heard it before, maybe that came from the familiarity with the SURNAME i.e. Holmes. You know who comes to mind every time someone says that surname. I automatically associated HER NAME with someone who must be very intellectual.
And then I Googled her. And it was like all hell broke loose.
See, I didn't know about her in the good times of her life. And for someone who finds out about someone after they have already become Infamous.
First impressions make a huge impact on how you would perceive the person at a later point in life. Especially when the person in question is relatively unknown to you and is going to be someone distant with whom you wouldn't have much contact or conversation. This statement in itself is actually quite foolish as judging someone by first impressions is a recipe for disaster most of the time.
This exactly why one should never idolize a public figure. At least that is in my opinion. We do not really know much about them. And if we end up looking up to them and then they make an ETHICAL VIOLATION. It just gets you feeling STUPID.
But in Elizabeth's case, I came to know about her after THERANOS SCANDAL was already a huge issue in America i.e only 3 months ago. As of now she already has a CIVIL and CRIMINAL lawsuit going on against her.
This woman, I just can't seem to put her in a category. If I say that she seems Gender Dysphoric, what with the Low Baritone Voice (which by the way is probably fake) and the weird-ass obsession with Steve Jobs' Turtlenecks that would negate that she actually VERY VERY successfully used her Lady Charm - The Big Blue Eyes, Typical Blonde Hair and Red Lips and Feigned Humility to her advantage.
And thus Roping in some of the Biggest Names out there to fund her Ironically Lethal Life Saving Diagnostic Start-Up.
So the question really is, how would you create her character sketch?
Without Rationalising her too much, I make the following argument - The Lady is Delusional, she is incorrigibly damaged in terms of Her "CAUSE". That she wants to create a blood test that would eliminate the need for a vial of blood and rather only use a simple pinprick. And the larger goal, that this would prevent people from getting diagnosed with life-threatening diseases at a later stage, hence the saying that has come to be her propaganda dialogue "LESS PEOPLE WOULD HAVE TO SAY GOODBYE TOO SOON". To someone who is in the Scientific business, everything she said would have seemed like total BS. But she had surrounded herself with Sponsors who were totally unrelated to the Medical scene. Everybody trusted her and Nobody questioned her.
Now behind her Delusion comes A Vision, of which is 100 % convinced would bring Good to people's lives ONLY IF SHE HAD A LITTLE MORE TIME and then when everything seemed to fail, Just A LITTLE MORE TIME and then SOME MORE. She was gambling, putting people's lives at stake in the process. Not to forget that she would come out a BILLIONAIRE if she succeeded. Alas, what she didn't CARE TO REALISE was that this was NOT A COMPUTER PROGRAM that she was writing, she couldn't just keep on pushing a test when it clearly didn't work, especially NOT TO ACTUALLY SEND OUT TEST SAMPLING MACHINEs AT PHARMACY STOREs, where potentially THOUSANDs of people went for testing and got the wrong results from her "TEST".
Only a Psychiatric Evaluation and A Judge can decide upon the extent of her "DELUSION" or even if she had one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
